Telephone Number Formatting for Voice & Fax

How to format destination telephone numbers when sending Voice & Fax messages

When sending Voice and Fax messages, the safest option is to send numbers in internationalised E.164 format, e.g. +6495005000 and +61700010001.

Your account can be pre-configured to accept New Zealand formatting. This means you can submit NZ numbers as a mixture of:
+6495005000
006495005000
6495005000
095005000
95005000

Note:

  1. International numbers will still require a leading + or 00, e.g. +442055554444.
  2. The service is able to accept and strip any unnecessary characters, such as spaces, dashes and brackets.
  3. If you prefer globalised E164 format without a leading +, contact your account manager.
  4. We do not support ENUM format (1.0.0.0.0.1.2.4.6.e164.arpa) currently.
