Connecting TNZ with Cin7

Send SMS from an existing Cin7 email workflow through TNZ Email-to-SMS and configure delivery and reply reporting.

Use Cin7's established Email-to-SMS workflow to send a contact email through TNZ as an SMS message.

Overview

  • Cin7 sends an email, such as 02100001@sms.tnz.co.nz.
  • The Cin7 sending Email Address must be a TNZ User.

Set up the integration

  1. Send a normal test email from Cin7 and check its From address.
  2. Register that exact address as a TNZ User. See Adding a new email address for sending.
  3. Add an email address to a Cin7 contact using the mobile number followed by @sms.tnz.co.nz. For example, use 02100001@sms.tnz.co.nz.
  4. Send a short, plain email from Cin7 to the SMS address. Remove signatures and disclaimers that should not appear in the SMS.
  5. Use TNZ reporting to confirm the message was accepted and check its delivery result.

Troubleshooting

TNZ does not accept the message

Compare the email's actual From address with the registered TNZ User. Ask TNZ Support if Cin7 sends through a relay address that also needs to be recognised.

The SMS contains extra text

Remove the Cin7 signature, disclaimer, or other email-template content before sending again.

The reply goes to the wrong place

Review the SMS reply reporting settings for the TNZ User that sent the email.
