Moving to fibre?
When moving to UFB or a fibre-based network, support for copper lines and existing fax machines will cease. Move to a cloud-hosted Internet Fax solution and send/receive faxes using email.
How Internet Faxing works
Any faxes sent to your fax number are collected by TNZ Fax, converted into a PDF or TIF document, and emailed to you. You do not need a physical fax machine or telephone line - TNZ handles this!
You can send faxes by addressing an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and attaching a document, PDF or image. See the Email-to-Fax Guide to learn more.
Keeping your fax number
Fax is an essential business tool, particularly for security conscious organisations such as banks, legal government and healthcare.
You may have held the same fax number for quite some time, printed on your business cards and published in collateral. When moving to TNZ’s Internet Fax services, you can retain your existing fax number.
We offer contract-free options, giving you the freedom to add or remove services at any time.
Next steps moving to UFB/Fibre
Before you move to fibre, it’s important to have a plan in place. We recommend:
Learn about our Internet Fax service (and our Enterprise fax solutions if applicable)
Complete your account registration as early as possible
Once your "move to fibre" date has been confirmed let your account manager know - we will aim to port your fax number prior to your other services moving to fibre
Once the port completes, you’ll be using Internet Fax! You are safe to disconnect your physical fax machine
No fax machine, fax line or even physical location required! A completely cloud hosted solution
No lock in contracts or minimum terms - cancel the service at any time
Send and receive faxes using your normal email client, simple! Faxes are received as PDF files in your email inbox
Number Porting is supported for both New Zealand and Australian fax numbers; keep your current fax number!
